A Rosary Service will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening during the Visitation.
St. Mary's Catholic Church is at the corner of FM 1774 and CR205 approximately 2 miles north of SH105 in Plantersville.

Albert “Buddy” A. Dodd, Jr. died Friday, July 23, 2010 at his home in Matagorda, Texas. He was born January 14, 1934 to Albert A. Dodd Sr. and Ellen Smith Dodd. Buddy was very active and involved in the community, was well loved by all and will be missed dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife (Bernice “Bunny” Kain Dodd), sister Dorothy Smith, son Ronald Dale Dodd. Survivors include brother John Dodd, sister Clydine Dodd Thomas; his daughters, Brenda Dodd Stanley, Karen Williams Brannen, & son John C. Williams, Jr. Grandsons, Scott Andrew Laird, Jake Alan Vaughan, & Derrick Jordan Vaughan.
Services will be held August 7, 2010 at 10 am at First United Methodist Church, Matagorda, Texas with Pastor Pauline Harvey Storey officiating. Internment will be at the Matagorda Cemetery. Arthur Mack "Bubba" Tolbert
Arthur Mack "Bubba" Tolbert, 66, passed away Monday, July 5, 2010. Mack was born September 24, 1943 in Freeport, Texas to parents, Jack Marion and Ella Mae Shiflett Tolbert. Mack grew up in Texas City and graduated from La Marque High School. He was a member of Pipefitter Local 211. Mack worked 25 years for Becthel Corporation at Union Carbide in Texas City. Mack was honored to serve his country where he was a Vietnam veteran and a lifetime member at both the VFW Post 6378 and the American Legion Post 554.
Mack was preceded in death by his father, Jack. Survivors include his mother Ella Mae, wife Olivia Strom Tolbert, his son, Andy and Keila; his children by marriage; Michael and Susie Strom, James and Carrie Menotti, his grandchildren Madison and Mackenzie Tolbert, Clay and Cory Menotti and Robert Strom. Mack is also survived by his sisters; Gladys and husband John Woodard, Fran and husband Loyd Morris, his brother Chet and wife Betty Tolbert as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many, many great friends.
Pallbearers are John Woodard, John Woodard Jr., Richard Lopez, Michael Strom, James Menotti, David Strom, David Strom Jr., Kenneth Strom.
Honorary Pallbearers, Andy Tolbert, Clay Menotti, Cory Menotti, and Robert Strom. Honor Guard from VFW and the American Legion. A visitation will be held Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson. Services will begin Thursday at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster.

Bobby Burns Adams passed away Friday, July 2, 2010. He was born November 18, 1928 in Kountze, TX to E. L. Adams, Jr. and Minnie Rob Adams. He is survived by two brothers, E. L. Adams III of Lancaster, PA and Sam B. Adams of Canyon Lake, TX, and a sister, Orian Ruth Adams of Richmond, TX and many nephews and nieces in Texas and Pennsylvania.
Bob moved with his family from Kountze to Baytown in 1943 where he attended R. E. Lee High School prior to joining the Army and serving in Germany. He returned to Baytown to pursue a career as a pipe fitter working at various refineries in the area, including some in Louisiana and the East coast. Bob was very proud of his trade and loyal to his Pipefitters Local 211 in Houston.
Bob never met a stranger. He had friends everywhere coffee was sold. He was very interested in politics and was friendly and polite. He was always ready to criticize political and corporate leaders that didn't conform to his way of thinking. One of Bob's strongest attributes was his willingness to assist someone in need and through the years, he helped many people.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Tuesday, July 6, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow at 12 noon in the Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze.
