|James H. “Jim” Rice, 72, of Mont Belvieu was born January 11, 1941 in Morgan City, LA passed away Saturday, February 2, 2013 at his home. He was retired from the Pipefitters Local #211 in Houston, was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Mont Belvieu, Baytown Masonic Lodge #1357, Archives Masonic Lodge #1399, and a Shriner. He was a people person, a politician deluxe, and a wonderful family caregiver. His grandchildren Matthew, Camryn, and Joshua were the light of his life. He had a passion for his church, helping everyone and traveling and his favorite past-time was agitating.He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank William and Eva Drayton Rice and brothers, Joe Wayne Rice, Jerry Lane Rice, and Charles David Rice. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Rice of Mont Belvieu; sons and daughter-in-law, James Lee Rice of Atascocita and Gregory James and Patricia Rice of Baytown; sisters and brother-in-law, Virginia Downing of Mont Belvieu, Alice and Robert Bounds of Highlands, and Janice Trousdale of Mont Belvieu; and grandchildren, Matthew James Rice, Camryn Elizabeth Rice, and Joshua Kyle Rice.
His family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home. Services will be Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Brothers John Bernadini, II, Roger Blackburn, John Nelson, and Kelly Caywood officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Rice, Michael Trousdale, Steven Saunders, Kelly Caywood, Roberts Bounds, and David Downing.
