Services for Grady Lee Moore, 84, of Wells, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Jim Maddox officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells. Mr. Moore was born September 19, 1928 in Cherokee County, Texas, the son of the late Nettie Mae (Holsomback) and LeRoy Ray Moore. He passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Moore was born in Alto and attended school in Cherokee County. He logged for several years, moved to Houston, and became a welder with 56 years with the Local 211 Pipefitters Union. He retired and moved back to Wells in 1992. He enjoyed keeping his wife happy and working outside. He was the Assistant Pastor of Living Water Church, loved his family and singing. Survivors include his wife, Hilda Davidson Moore of Wells; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Vickie Moore of Deer Park, Donnie and Maryann Moore of Houston, Gary Paul and Jeri Moore of Jones Creek, Jerry Lynn and Melissa Moore of Lake Jackson, Mike and Jackie Moore of Jones Creek and Mark and Perla Moore of Brownsville; stepson, Luther Williams III of Palestine; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Ladonna and Kurt Sowa of Ft. Worth; 12 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 29 great-great grandchildren; 3 step great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. In addition to his parents, Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Davidson Moore. Pallbearers will be his sons and grandsons, Donnie Moore, Gary Moore, Jerry Lynn Moore, Mike Moore, Mark Moore, Tony Moore, Jeremy Moore, Raymond Moore and David Moore.
