Jarrell R Mitchell passed away Monday, February 24th. He was 93 years old. He joined the Local straight out of the military in 1947. Visitation will be held tonight, April 27th, from 6pm to 8pm at Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Jackson. The funeral will be Friday, April 28th at 2pm also at the Lakewood Funeral Home.
Mr. James “Tommy” Wade passed away at the age of 59. Visitation will be Friday, April 28th, at the Carnes Funeral Home in Texas City (3100 Gulf Freeway) from 6pm to 8pm. The Funeral will be held Saturday, April 29th, at 1pm at Arcadia Baptist Church (14828 Highway 6) in Santa Fe, Texas.
Johnny Mack Brown, Sr., 72, of San Angelo was welcomed into the Lord’s arms April 14, 2017.
Johnny Mack was born in Texas City, TX on September 29, 1944 to Mildred and Joe Virgil Brown. He lived in the Houston area until 1991, in which time he moved to San Angelo with his wife, Glenda.
His life-long career on this earth was a Pipefitter out of Local 211 in Houston. He followed in his father and brother’s footsteps in the Houston area, and helped build the Houston Space Center as well as; the nuclear plant in Bay City, TX. He was medically retired with over 40 years of service.
During his first marriage, he was blessed with two children, Cheryl and Johnny Mack Brown, Jr.
Johnny Mack was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Joanne and his brother Jerry. He leaves behind his soulmate and wife of 38 years, Glenda Brown, and “Mom” Jean Hicks, and a grandson, Joseph Virgil Brown of Atlanta, GA. Also a brother and sister in love, David & Ida Hicks, along with many other family members and friends.
In following God’s teachings, he was very evangelistic in wanting to tell anyone who would listen about the miracles that had been awarded to him through his Lord Jesus Christ. Most recently he renounced and cleansed his heart, and prayed for his soul to be cleansed of any and all animosity he had harbored in his heart throughout his lifetime.
He loved his church family at Freedom Fellowship, his Life Group and was always praying for, and with them and loving the Lord Jesus Christ. Johnny was a loving and wonderful husband. He and Glenda walked together in life’s journey, never apart.
An open viewing will be held on Sunday, April 16th from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and also on Monday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Graveside services will be on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens at 10:30 AM.

A Memorial Service will be held for George O Tanner Jr. this Saturday (April 1st) at 2pm at Rosewood which is on Beltway 8 and Red Bluff in Pasadena. There will be no visitation.

Funeral services for James Ray Pyle, 73, of Huntington will be held Sunday, January 29, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Kevin Wisener officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow in the Gilbert Chapel Cemetery in Bald Hill.
Mr. Pyle was born December 31, 1943 in Groveton, Texas to Marie (Brock) Pyle and the late James Hershel Pyle, and died Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at his residence.
Mr. Pyle had resided in Huntington for the past 16 years and previously lived in Pasadena. He was a welder for 43 years in the Pipefitters Local Union #211. He faithfully served in the United States Army and was in Germany during the Vietnam War. Mr. Pyle was known as “PawPaw” to many with the National and Texas High School Rodeo family, Crimson Christian Academy, and the girls Comet basketball team. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and taught many youth about God’s great outdoors and everyday life. He was a Christian.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Pyle of Huntington; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Heather Pyle of Plantersville; daughter and son-in-law, Jerrie and Kevin Wisener of Lufkin; grandchildren, Colby Pyle of Plantersville, Sadie and Greg Goodwin of Wells, Kallie and Kyle Wilson, and Kadie Beth Wisener, all of Lufkin; great-grandchild, Hadlee Ray Goodwin of Wells; mother, Marie Pyle of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Shirley Pyle of Huntington; sister and brother-in-law, Jerri and Tommy Crawford of Ratcliff; sister-in-law, Beverly Pyle of Kennard; brother-in-law, Rayford Quine of Ratcliff; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Donald Rex Pyle, and sister, Glenda Ann Quine.
Pallbearers will be Mike Ener, Ronny Finke, Lynn Erwin, Brian Page, Roy French, and Jimmy Wankan.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Pipefitters Local Union #211.
